They provide great winter time interest. We typically leave ours full and flowing at our maintenance properties. But if you look closely at the base of each plant this time of the year you will see new growth sprouting up.
Spring is a great time to prune them. Take them by the handful and snip them like a ponytail at the base a couple of inches from the ground. Easy Peasy!
